Re: Single sidedraft with stock cam ?

Hi. Bolting on a single side draft of 40mm PHH design will not give you any more performance per sae. It will allow more air flow up in the higher revs to produce power up there. However the standard cam works in balance with the stock carburettor. The cam runs out of performance, the valve train be...

Re: What jets to put in my webber 32/36?

Kenny. A few things here: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/group.asp?GroupID=WEBERDGVP I suggest calling them about the synchronous throttle linkage kit. And ask them if there are any different size venturi (choke) available for your Weber to go with jet changes. However performance over economy us...

Re: Brake Master upgrade

Some motorsport organisations require dual circuit master cylinders. Not being familiar with the US model Toyotas, if you have a single circuit cylinder then a change to a dual circuit one would be good. Here in Aus we are required to compete with dual circuit systems, either with a dual piston M/C ...

Re: Help with 2TG distributor setting

Ok. You were close, infact 12 degrees retarded when you set the rotor pointing to #1 and engine set at TDC. Set crank pulley notch at the twelve degree mark on the timing cover or close to it. With the distributor slotted in as per the diagram in the thread above and the plug cap and leads removed t...

Re: Running Mikuni 44s

Ok. Nice buy. Have a look at some installs on my site. Looks as if you have Mikuni factory jetting. Typically #34 Venturi, 200 Main air, 150 Main Fuel, 57.5 Pilot. Main jets maybe big for that combination of motor. However this combination would allow you to start and run the car safely. Then it is ...

Re: Manual vs Electronic 2TC Carburetor

As Bob said. Both operate mechanically the same. You may have different jets which could benifit when tuning. The question to ask is: If you choose the carb with electrical devices, do you have any idea where to connect them? I'd choose mechanical as that gives less things to think about and connect...

Re: Intake manifold hose, where does it go and what does it

Hi Todd This pipe supplies coolant to the base of the intake and out into the head. It could possibly have the reverse effect to why Toyota put the coolant through the manifold in the first place when connected here in our Aussie climate. Japan and a lot of Europe and North America experience a lot ...

Re: Cam bearings

Gotta love this. I too have destroyed three cams over the years since the mid 1980s. 1740 2T with TRD oil pump and all the TRD stuff from the catalog at the time. The first TRD cam ran well for several seasons without issue 8500 most often. Laid off motorsport until about 1992 when I went to do my r...

Re: Side Draft Linkage

Any of the throttle levers that suit Weber or Dellorto will not fit onto the Mikuni/Solex PHH range. Weber and Dellorto have 7mm throttle shaft and Mikuni/Solex have 8mm. Here is a picture of a set up on a Nissan L16 manifold and for a Redline 2T Manifold that gives you an idea of what can be done: ...
