Re: 3tc cracked blocks

WOW! Was this a race engine? Anyone else have cracked blocks?
Mine is a stock daily driver. The 1st engine had a hairline crack by the starter leaking water outside.
The 2nd engine has a hairline crack leaking water into the oil pan.

The 1st engine was bored, crank turned, head job, & t50 trans front bearing modified and engine had some vibration. Lasted over a year The second engine was kept intact, only changed rings, bearings, freeze plugs & gaskets and had some but less vibration. Lasted about 6 months. The motor mou...

Re: Help me with my 2TC

Go with a Weber 32/36 carb, only 1 vacuum line. Also many on the forum recommend blocking the water thru the intake manifold. Block off all vacuum ports on the intake manifold (except brake booster) and make it a free breather if inspections aren't a problem. The T50 is the only reason I switched to...

Re: Noisy tranny (t50)

Well.... the stock pipe the shop got was 10 thousandths too small, so he made a brass sleeve for $75.00 and put a roll pin in the case so the sleeve will stay centered.

Re: Noisy tranny (t50)

The bearings from Australia didn't pan out (may come later). I got the Nachi 6206nr bearing $10.00 and getting a sleeve made to make up the 6mm difference. The first machine shop gave me a quote of $200. for the 1st sleeve & $250 for 4 or 5. The second estimate said not over $100 and will get ba...

Re: Noisy tranny (t50)

There may be 3 bearings being shipped from Australia to NC. If they are the right ones and get here soon.
Another option I'm considering is a Nachi 6206n bearing (around $10.) 30x62x16 and getting a sleeve made. My original is 30x68x16

Re: WTB T50 3TC BELLHOUSING

I was just at a Toyota graveyard looking for a t50 input shaft. they have a dozen or more t50's laying out in a field many with bell housings. Toyz Unlimited in Liberty, NC. There are 4 versions of the t50. I found one good input bearing but it was the smaller size. Also it may be hard to distinguis...

Re: Noisy tranny (t50)

on the sides of the bearings. the clamp has little feet that pivot and just get them 180 deg. on each side of the bearing. The input bearing to the front case (not pilot) got jerky with a little pressure and locked with moderate pressure. All other bearings spun equally with no to moderate pressure....
