Re: Adding Gear Oil Through the Shifter?
That's the part that pisses me off about the whole thing. I know I could do it, but I'm working with one set of hands. I listed it over the weekend on CL. Had a few bites but no takers yet.

Great looking ride! Does it hold up well in the heat? It looks like you live in a tropical climate.

Re: Adding Gear Oil Through the Shifter?
If my dad didn't live in ATL and I had a lift, it might be a good weekend project. Dropping a transmission while laying my back and working alone with 6" of clearance sounds like a pile of mistakes waiting to happen. I know when I am in over my head. The car, as of today is for sale. It has onl...

Re: Adding Gear Oil Through the Shifter?
Thanks for all the responses, guys, but I think we might have a different issue at hand. After talking to an expert (my dad) it looks like it might be the throw out bearing. Cheap part, gobs of labor. Has any one got any experience on DIY-ing the throw out bearing replacement? I don't need a new clu...

Adding Gear Oil Through the Shifter?
Now that I have the exhaust system installed on my '81, I discovered I have a noise that sounds like a lack of gear oil in the transmission. When I finally got it up on the jacks, I noticed that the fill plug has been rounded off and ain't moving. I have heard that gear oil can be added through the ...

Re: Seat belt options?
Negative on lifetime warranty from the dealers, guys. There was a time in the early '80's when Toyota would do it, but no mas. Looks like I'm headed to the junkyard.
Never hurts to ask, though!

Plasti Dip?
Ok. I can't be the only guy considering this move. I have been watching countless Youtube videos and web posts about Plasti Dipping exterior paint jobs. Looks cool / sounds crazy. My paint is not in bad shape, but I like the idea of putting it in a "time capsule" until I can afford a prope...

'81 Corolla 4-Door in South Alabama
Greetings from South Alabama! This forum came recommended by the previous owner of my car. He did a pretty good job lowering and cleaning up the little TE72 and I would like to keep it running my little stretch of I 10 - I 65 as a daily driver for as long as I can. Finally got a pipe and a muffler o...
