Parts that are spoken for: Grill, interior A pillar covers, and door rubbers. I already told him, but I think I'm going to let the eBay auction end before I start stripping it. Any parts you guys want post them here so you get first dibs on them when I start pulling parts!

1979 TE51 Liftback complete part out! (Or purchase complete)

I have a 1979 TE51 Liftback with a blown motor that I'm parting out. I don't really want to cut it up though. The entire car is for sale for $750. (or bid for it on eBay) If you are interested and willing to pay more, I have many spare 2TC motors that I can swap in there and you can drive it home! I...

Thanks! I've had it for nearly five years now and finally decided I should pull it out and enjoy before I put my car to sleep for many years. ;)

Re: Foxau2's 77 TE51 Megasquirt 2TG EFI

I had a little time waiting between classes at school today so I decided to get the dash pad off. I got some funny looks from other people walking by in the parking lot. :) I also changed out my short shifter for a regular sized shifter. It feels weird now but I like it better. http://i729.photobuck...

Re: Foxau2's 77 TE51 Megasquirt 2TG EFI

I'm going to order a 12V water solenoid valve to turn the water to the heater on and off. The factory valve is really crusty and I don't dare try to move it to close off the water for fear it would break. So I'm going to install a switch behind the heater controls so when the temperature knob is all...

Re: Foxau2's 77 TE51 Megasquirt 2TG EFI

I started taking my dash apart to replace with the painted pad, and also to paint the center console and dash face. I prepared the dash by first wiping it with acetone. Then I scrubbed it in the bath with straight hot water and dissolved TSP. (trisodium phosphate, found at hardware stores) I let it ...

Re: Distributor upgrade question

It's a lot easier if you get the electronic dizzy and ignitor out of the same car so you know they match up. That's what I did and it was a 20 minute process to install.

Re: carbs vs efi

For me, I have to agree with the pro EFI side of it. It is easier to tune for me. I had dual sidedrafts on my 18RG and they never ran right. I switched out jets and throats and all sorts of things and they just still never ran right. Sometimes they would be OK, then the weather would change and I co...

Re: Plastic Dash Cap Cover

I have one of those dash covers in my 77 Celica. It's definitely than the ugly broken up original dash beneath, but it's pretty apparent it's just a cover. The edges don't line up quite right and stick out. But for lack of another option they would be perfect.

Re: Foxau2's 77 TE51 Megasquirt 2TG EFI

I still plan to do some more work on it before I put it to sleep for many years. I have an undamaged dash I pulled from a junkyard 5 years ago. I'm going to dye/paint it black and install it. http://i729.photobucket.com/albums/ww300/foxau2/Mobile%20Uploads/PHOTO_20140323_192819_zpsbflgsxzz.jpg http:...
