Re: 2tc to a 3tc swap 76 Corolla
Hi there, I did automatic 2tc to 3tc in my old 78 liftback. And ran a 2TC in my originally 3TC equipped 1980 liftback for several years. It should be a easy swap. The engine blocks have the same mounting points, they just changed the shape of the engine mounts a couple times. As such for any engine ...

Re: Weber jetting, what I've used that works
Well it's been many years but it's time for an update to this thread and list. I've built a new engine for my 80 Liftback. Specs are: - 3TC block, bored out to use 87mm 10.5:1 Wiesco pistons. (1.9-ish Liters). Stock crank and connecting rods. 0.10 oversize bearings - 3TC head, gasket matched, lightl...

Re: Air Filter
Are you using the factory air filter housing? If so, K&N and Baldwin both make cleanable air filters that fit, I have used both and would recommend them. I am not familiar with the AFE filters.

You'll definitely get a nice power boost by going with a Weber 32/36, even without touching the head yet. You have the exhaust, cam and ignition already and Webers work well when they can breathe and get a nice hot spark! A fresh head with some slightly oversized valves would work nicely with the ca...

Re: Tranny swap
Hi, I tried to swap an A42 into my old Celica years ago. As I recall I could not put the A40 bell housing on because that extra length in the spA42 bell goes over a case extension of some sorts. You would have to get the proper bell housing for your engine to make it work. I don't know if the A 42 e...

Re: What do you do for a living people?
I'll try and start this thread back up :D. I'm a job lead/project manager for a general contractor. We do all residential remodel work, no condos, highrises, etc, just good honest homes for good honest people. Everything from small upgrades, to additions and whole house remodels. 4-7 figure jobs, ke...

Please let us know if you find a new bearing and source to buy it from. I think mine is going out too.

Re: Weber Jetting for economy
Please read my weber jetting post to start with and every basic weber tuning site you can fine! (There are tons of them on the web.) I put together my list of jetting to help people find a baseline. All the cars on my list are fully functional, street driven and tested over long periods of time. The...

Re: Engine tuning options
http://3tcgarage.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=142 Read my weber jetting post to get you started :-). The stockish cars with 32/36's on this list all got/get between 18-23mpg city and up towards 30mpg highway. I never tuned them for pure economy, more for all around driving and power, but find the s...
