Re: 3tc camshaft help

If there are any places around you that make or regrind cams, Have them profile it for you. Will give you the specs. We have had to do that a lot on some of our mystery cams

Re: Head Gasket replacement on 2TC?

Yep. You can remove the head with intake on. . You can leave the water inlet on the head too.
Once you unbolt the head, pull the rocker stand off and pull out the pushrods. Then lift the head right off.

Re: Head Gasket replacement on 2TC?

I would put the engine up on tdc on the #1 cyl before. Not necessary but at least you know where you are to adj the valves when you reinstall the head.

Re: Cam bearings

It has a high volume oil pump. Maybe too much load at high rpm. Turning 9000 while racing.
Gonna run stock oil pump with a tiny shim. I feel like its too much drag on the gear at rpm with that pump.
We'll see.

Does anyone wnow what the clearance should be on the front cam bearing? I keep wiping out distributors and cam gears.
The groove is supposed to oil the dist gear but something isn't right. Or oil is foaming? Not sure.

Make it right in front of you in whatever ends, hose material and length you need. http://www.hoseandfittingsetc.com/ See if one is near you. If not a similar place. I also have an adapter from metric to npt. I thi...

Re: Cooling fan Flex-a-lite

I just put on on my race car this last weekend. Ran 180 all night. You will need a spacer between the fan and pulley. I put a 2 inch spacer. Found long enough bolts at lowes.

Re: Side draft carbs, so many options! (leaning towards SU)

If you're going to keep the engine stock. I would just throw a 32/36 on there. Twin side drafts are a chore to tune and expensive. They sound cool though. I have some myself but not on my daily driver. You're not going to gain any mpg by adding multiple carbs. Single side draft is a little more stre...
