Re: Te27 Ball Joints
I took an extra pair of control arms to be powder coated then after they were done straight to the local mechanic shop to have the new ball joints installed.

Re: exhaust setups
I had a flowmaster on for awhile but at high rpms I didn't like the sound. I had a dynomax muffler which is quieter and I imagine that with duals it would be the muffler to have but I have a Holley carb which doesn't compare to duals so now I have a magnaflow muffler. It is comparable to the flowmas...

Re: Adding Gear Oil Through the Shifter?
If my dad didn't live in ATL and I had a lift, it might be a good weekend project. Dropping a transmission while laying my back and working alone with 6" of clearance sounds like a pile of mistakes waiting to happen. I know when I am in over my head. The car, as of today is for sale. It has on...

Re: Finally
Funny thing is no one would align the car because "its not in our computer". Then my friend gives me a contact at the Mazda VW dealership and we do it after hours and the specs are in the computer!! I only used factory specs for toe adjustment and caster, -1 degree of camber.
Finally
I finally got my car out after being deprived of any fun driving for 5 months. This winter I swapped in 86 suspension and had everything powder coated black. I installed new bushings and bought T3's adjustable TC rods. I also did new ball joints and tie rods. Everything well worth the money and I ma...

Re: carbs vs efi
Just so you know where Im coming from, I had one car with a 3tc efi set up and had no clue how to approach it so i sold the set up. I dont even own a laptop. On the other hand, I had over 20 sets of duals since my first set in 1981. I had mikuni/solex 40/44, dellorto 40/45/48 and weber 38/40/45. I ...

Re: Front sway bar mount bushings
I forgot to measure my sway bar again while I was at my parents house so I just checked out Tom Carter's website which said the SR5 bar is 19mm/0.75" so I just ordered from energy suspension.

Front sway bar mount bushings
Where do you guys get your front sway bar mount bushings? The local parts stores do not have a listing for my car, 74 sr5.
I also believe my car has a thicker bar, like 5/8"? I think I'll have to go with a custom unit but thought I would check here first thanks.
