Re: Couple of questions...
Ok... thanks It had a 4.10:1 from the factory, changed it to 3.90:1 a couple of years ago but still the rpms are high... By "steeper" what do you mean? 4.11 or 3.73? I'm running 195-50-15s... I mean 3.73, or even 3.58 gears to drop your final drive ratio. The 195/50R15's are only slightly...

Re: Conversion to electric fuel pump
I put my electric pump as low on the firewall/front rail as I could (For gravity to help feed) and have a big canister filter just off the tank, in the back of the car, plus one more extra fine filter between the pump and the pressure regulator. Thats depend on the fuelpump brand some fuel pump rea...

Re: Couple of questions...
My brother has a lift back with the factory 4-2-1 manifold+down pipe you are talking about. That manifold, coupled with a 2" exhaust really woke up the stock engine in that car!! That manifold is as good as you can get without buying a header. I used to own a 79 automatic TE51, it had the 3.90:...

Re: TE72 Wagon exhaust
I don't have any pics handy, but I did a 2.5" exhaust on my wagon and ran it over axle, mostly following factory routing. If I had to do it again I'd go under axle. The reason is I ran it as tight to the body as I could, but have still crushed the top just a little, maybe 1/4" over time an...

Re: 3tc muffler recommendations
I have had Dynomax Superturbo mufflers on multiple cars now, I like them a lot! Fairly quiet at idle, nice roar when you get into the throttle, not ricey at all.

Re: Real Weber vs. Knock off Weber
I have a 34/34 "weber" knockoff I bought new 6-7 years ago. Save your money! They do not use actual weber parts/jets and replacement parts were not available 2-3 years ago when I wanted to rejet the carb for a different motor. Its kind of a shame, because the carb did perform well on 2 dif...

Re: Cold start weber option
I have the cold start chokes on my 40mm DCOE's. Honestly, I've never used them. Even when it's been 20-32 degrees F, so 0 C or below, I can always get it started after a few tries. (Pump pedal 3 times, fire it up, feather the gas, it dies, try again, etc....) once it gets going I run it at 1500-2000...

Re: Radiator question
I bought mine from summit racing, it's a little larger still then BRD's. Had to make custom mounts and use the slimmest fan I could find, it clears my main pully by maybe 3/8", a shroud wouldn't fit if I wanted it too . The cooling system holds over 4 gallons now. 4 gallons?! That's insan...
