Postby nicistheshit on Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:47 pm

well this is my first post of my car,
ive been trying to find the other website for quite some time then finally stumbled across this just the other day.
:)
im so happy i finaalllly found it! now i can get some good help and ideas.

so i have a 1981 te71 coupe,
i bought it for 200, it was uuuuuuuuugly! but it drove strong, ( because its a toyota;p)
there was some rust, a dent in the door, uuuugly paint, little nicks and things.
the interior was aaaalll basicly garbage.
dash was soooo cracked,

i had to drive it over the pass back here, and i got a flat tire btw too... -___-

haha

so i stripped it all,
put a coat of primer on :p
and cleaned and scrubbed for two weeks straight. hahahahah

finally my dad said he'll start helping me out with alot more stuff,

CURRENT MODS- Racing Bucket Seats, 4 point harness, some gauges, oldschool racing type rearview mirror. rebuit the dash, slpash gaurds ;p cleaned up stockies :/ lowered springs. back half is gutted. repainted and fixed door panels. good air filter. fenders 1/2 way pumped. and exhaust..

MODS TO COME SOON- Header im ordering friday, looking to get full exhaust too. trying sooo hard to find some wheels. going to build a custom box in the back for 2 12" also and building a box for my stereo to, finish fenders. put bumpers back together, PAINT white this weeked hopefully! get good lowering springs, new brakes badly.. and try and find a good ol webber or somethin.

k well here are some pictures! dont be so harsh this is my first car, and my first project :p

so i dont have the pictures of when i first got it and before cleaning so heres where it starts,

Glad to see a new generation of Toyota builders coming up. Keep with the car and I can't wait to see what you accomplish with it. The Pacific NW is a great place to find some really good cars and parts. Less sun up there usally isn't as harsh on these old things.

Good job so far with recovery. Is the car still only primer?

Good to see some more Oregonians! My cars are in Eugene while i go back and forth between there and Corvallis, so just holler if you need a hand with the car, or need anything else!
