Door handle problems?

This is for the outside handles only

I have found that the old corolla's pot metal door handles love to break when not being used by someone careful of the old material. As I scrounged the salvage yard I have found the best door handles to pull and use.
Camry's Rear door handles (which are used much less than the front) of several years (style may change slightly from boxy to more rounded) are the same as the front's. I have purchased and used handles from 1982 to 1986 Camry front and rear handles on my 83 2dr. (the Outside door handles are all the same)

I've taken people for rides and they tend to let the handle slap back and it breaks. not their fault they don't consider that. but I figured I'd throw this out there for those that don't know.

If you can post all all the models you know will fit and what cars to scrounge from specifially and concise, then I will move this to the non-OEM parts solutions section.

Outside door handles from any from an 82-86 Camry (Both front and rear doors are the same handle)
the outside design is the same (I currently have the rear handles from an 84 Camry on my 83 Corolla)


The door handles from an 87-91Camry (Also Front and rear are the same)
The design is more rounded



The 87-91 probably will not fit 100% as the mounting point is located lower on the handle than the earlier models. but can be used if it's all you can find.

Both mount to the rods correctly but as said the 87-91 won't fit 100% unless your willing to modify the door mounting holes some. (I have not mounted in an 87-91 yet. it may bind if placed in the current holes due to the mounting point.I will try it in the near future and update on this)
