Shock Absorbers

Has anyone here tried installing shock absorbers to other rigs before? I'm planning to lift my pickup and I want to add Bilstein shocks to it. Is it a good brand of shock to consider? This is the first time that I'll be modifying my truck and I want to make sure that I have proper and high-quality tools for it.
