A47de behind a 3tc advice wanted

Post by Natsroy »

Hi people I am new here so please be gentle 😊
I am building up an old 1938 austin lol and I want to put a carbed 3tc in it, now I just want a cruiser and maybe go to the odd local drag, so an auto is a must.
Now here in nz factory autos are rare but from research on this site a 1g a47de box will bolt up and they are easy to find, but I just have a question about the electronic side of the box.
Can it be made to run on its own or does it have to have some input from an engine ecu to operate properly?

Thanks in advance.

Any luck with this? Cant help re a47de wiring. Im assuming from a 1geu altezza or mark2 etc. There's older autos from 3t and 1g from the 80s though. A42 A43D series which has the kick down cable only i believe. Came behind 3tgte too.
Research along the lines of the 80s tt141 corona ta63 celica/carina or the larger sedans gx60 gx61 gx71 etc. Plenty were manual converted so you never know what people have stashed away.
