I've replaced my rear hatch lift supports with new Sach's brand and they are still lack luster. They will hold the hatch up, but you have to lift it 95% of the way there. I measured one on the bathroom scale and its putting out 80lbs of force.
Does anyone know of a higher force lift support that will bolt in?
Extended length is 24" and compressed is 16". I could prob use something an inch on either side of that.
Thanks,

Re: Better Lift Supports for TE72 Wagon - Liftgate Gas Sprin
I found some better ones that work great; 127lbs vs 80lbs and require no mods to install. AMS Automotive #4776. Rock Auto has them for $8 ea.

Starts lifting the hatch from about 25% open, and no chance of it ever dropping no matter how cold it is outside.
