I thought the reason why they leave it is the pain needed to demount everything to adjust them

You confused me with the pictures. Can you do a quick write up?
Did you cut too much off?
Then cut the piece you cut off, you cut another 2inches off before re welding it back?

Can you use those Mr2 or Tercel inserts without cutting the struts? use a spacer or something else???

Why you want to do that ? longer struds with short shocks the travel length will be short to compensate the damping high i quests

Well, my wagon has one coil cut up front... It just bottoms out too quickly, it has soft ride shocks...
Monroe sensatrack... I don't really like cutting up the struts... Can the strut be cut retaining the stock spring perches... I guess about 1" or 2"? ... Or maybe just a "stiffer"shock???

Are you sure it bump on the shock or the damping rubber ?
Did you cut the bump rubber a bit that give the shock an few inch more travel length
