Hey, i saw this Celica at toynats. I love the function over form, reminds me of the stuff i build. Performance always comes first.
Are you coming this year?

Haha fancy finding you here!
I have been cut right out of time by clutch & engine machine guys... Won't make it this year unfortunately.
Will you be there flying the old school two valve turbo flag again??
Cheers,
Jason

Re: NME308's 3TC Turbo TA23 Celica
Not sure if ill get mine back together in time, lacking any motivation .
Re: NME308's 3TC Turbo TA23 Celica
He obviously only runs low boost...
That carb would give him HUGE dramas set up that way if he was making some decent boost!
He also needs to learn some basic Holley adjustment techniques.
On the flip side he is actually running and driving and loving it! Good for him.
Cheers,
Jason

Is the young nephew(?) going to be there with his TA22 then?

Re: NME308's 3TC Turbo TA23 Celica
Bit of an update from the weekend.
My engine looked like this a week ago...
Seriously all that was the hold up is the lack of M8 bolts for that row of holes in the girdle above the main caps. But that is enough to put the cover back on until the said bolts are obtained... I havn't heard back in a week so will have to chase it all up again this week.
Anyhow there has been other stuffs happening!
Like a shiney new clutch and billet flywheel combo!
Here is a pic of the old 350HP clutch combo which was starting to slip sitting beside the new rather more manly one.
This afternoon I decided to start the airbox. I had already made a flat sheet of fiberglass on the shed floor a couple of weeks ago so I simply had to make a jigsaw puzzle.
The hot batch of resin I mixed went off nice and quick to stick the bits together on the outside so then I was able to beef it all up properly on the inside. This should be ready for the morning.
My parents came over for a look at progress in the shed so I figured I'd better put the dash back in the Celica so they could see what I had been bragging about!
Here is the gratuitous shot...
Cheers,
Jason
