From pics it looks like a 2tc. The block says 3tc by the dipstick?
Bell housing, timing and valve cover are early 2tc, head and trans are later model, but block also looks like early 2tc.

Good eye. I bought the engine thinking 3TC and when I checked the block is says 2TC. I found out that it's a 2TC with 3TC internals. Apparently, it has golf ball pistons and a big cam. It stumbles up to 2500rpm and screams from 4000-7000rpm.
I'll be uploading a video with a fuel pressure regulator and exhaust installed. Also, I timed the engine and calibrated the carb again. It runs smooth now.

Golf ball pistons wont work with a 3tc crank unless you have shorter rods which wouldnt make sense because you would have terrible rod angle.
If you ever have the pan off, 2tc crank has 4 counter weights and 3tc has 8 counter weights.
You can add a 3tc crank but you have to grind by the oil pan for clearance unless you have a late model 2tc block, but all the blocks with the hole and plate behind the oil filter like yours need to be clearanced.

Golf ball pistons just come in the high perf 2tc engines only available in the TE37 SR-5 1975 and some 76's early released TE37 cars, USDM talking, they are awesome engines and they had as much HP as the late TE72 3TC engines with 200cc less. i like both engines the same way 2tc and 3tc they would make about the same power but the 2t is better for cornering kind of motorsports, as the 3t is better for drag, the way the short stroke 2t are they rev like MOFOS in my opinion!

that's the engine to build with a ported head and a small cam, it will be a blast to run arround the block scaring the old people....

That's what i want to hear! I'm anxious to get this on a track.
I've got the fuel system mapped out and the battery is mounted to the rear passenger side. I've sorted out the front end clunk from the coilovers and installed a new front swaybar and tension rods. I'm aiming to have her driving by 86day.
