3tc EGR question

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster. I just picked up a 5 finger intake or my 3tc. I've already deleted the EGR valve and I just deleted the other valve under the intake(the valve the smog tubes run too). My question is since I have a egr head do I need to plug the egr port on the intake side? The port right behind the dizzy, I can take a pic if anyone needs further explanation.

Block off the EGR with one of these then your all good, no need to do anything else. I bought 3 of em, really worth the price.

That port is just a bypass from the EGR to the intake nothing else if you plug your egr from the #1 exhaust port with a set screw you can run a non egr T-stat housing and forget about the rest, you also can cut/trim an EGR t-stat housing to look like a Non EGR t-stat housing, i done many they look much better!

So really I should just pull the header off and remove the smog tubes all together? Then if I want cut the EGR t-stat housing?

No, you have to plug the smog ports, they go directly to the exhaust port. From #1 there is another hole to the EGR you must plug to run the EGR delete water neck housing.

Ok I think I see what you mean. When I pull the housing off the port on the far right?

BRD sells the smog plugs but he only carries one size and insist that they are all the same. I know for sure there are 3 different sizes of smog port plugs. I have never found any of these size plugs in my local hardware stores. If you dont have a welder, you can cut the tubes long, flatten with a hammer and roll up like a empty toothpaste tube. If you have a welder you can fill the holes and put them back in.
I took some pics so you can see how the head passages are for the EGR. I put white tie wraps to show how they run. I also took a pic of the early head so you can see the difference, they have threaded ports but are not drilled through like later heads.
Water neck housing above head.

#2 through #4. sometimes #1 is not drilled all the way through and doesnt need a plug.

Early 2TC head vs EGR head

Early heads not drilled trough, no plugs needed.

No problem, just for overkill, couple more pics.
Smog plugs, one welded and one rolled.
Carlos' EGR block off plate installed.
