I recently got a 1981 te72 and am wondering if I should do engine work first or try the w58 trans swap? Also when mating the w58 to the 3tc do I use the clutch components from my t50? when the swap is done do i need to get drivelines made or will my stock ones fit?

So far I have a stock 3tc with a weber 32/36 on it. I want to do a junkyard build and get a really fun street car. I might try racing it a little bit too. I have been trying to decide between a header or waiting and going turbo. but if I go turbo would I have to get a diffrent carb? or injected?

I will say make an orientation which route you want to go before you start

I have been thinking about doing a w58 trans swap because my t50 sounds pretty bad already. and after that I would like to do a megasquirt efi kit. at least thats what im hopeing to do.

Hi,
The T50 clutch will work with the W58 but you should aim to use the bigger W58 clutch as it's much stronger. It will bolt up onto your engine, can't remember now but it's about 25mm larger in diameter on the clutch plate. The W58 bell housing provides more space to allow for the bigger clutch.

Well i guess my decision was made for me. I blew my t50 up on friday wich leaves me without a car until i fix it. So im gonna put my spare t50 in for a while until i find another w58.
