I have a 1976 corolla with a 2 pinion, 6.38" diff. 4:10 ratio (stock). I want to know if a 1981 4 pinion, 6.38" diff with a 3:583 ratio will fit.
Are the axle shaft splines the same?

It will fit. splines are the same. I've never had any issues from another year to another and I change gears in the racecar all of the time.
