WTB T50 3TC BELLHOUSING
Anyone have a 3TC T50 bell housing for sale? Or will trade for a 2TC small starter Bell Housing with flex Plate.
Re: WTB T50 3TC BELLHOUSING
I was just at a Toyota graveyard looking for a t50 input shaft. they have a dozen or more t50's laying out in a field many with bell housings. Toyz Unlimited in Liberty, NC.
There are 4 versions of the t50. I found one good input bearing but it was the smaller size. Also it may be hard to distinguish a t50 from a t40.

Well my understanding is that they all "T50" where pretty much the same "ALMOST"...lol. The difference between T40 and T50 was that T40 was a 4 speed and T50 was a 5 speed. Older T50/T40 had the rear tail shaft housing shifter hole more towards the front, And I "think" had the smaller Front bell housing Starter hole. 1980-82 had the Bigger Starter hole and The shifter was more towards the rear.
They all were 20 spline in the rear shaft until 1983, Then they switched to 22 spline.
I Pretty sure there's a difference in gears and what not......
Also you Can swap the Tail shafts housings from the Early 2tc T50 to the later 1980-82 T50
You just have to swap the Shift rods.... Pretty easy to do. And the Bell Housings are easy to swap also.
