Need wiring help. Burnt harness repair te31. 1978
I need help. I bought a te31 78 coupe. And need to repair a short/burn in the harness. Donor part from junkyard not the same.
Here is the part number.
Here is what it looks like
I can probably trace most wires and replace. But this section over here the wires were cut!!!
This leads to the starter and the coil i think...
At any rate the harness has 2 plugs to start with. Would appreciate any help or leads to a diagram to sort it out.
If anyone has same harness and can even post pics of the wires in the burn plug. Would appreciate. Forgot to mention car has a 3tc, but i think wiring for most part is original

Thise diagrams are hard to read. I was hoping one with a te31 to post some pics. I brought the car back from storage to see better.
It had a lot of wires that were floating around.
Have no idea what they are. Took them out.
What is this?
Temp sender??
Anyways harness went from this
To
Have to figure this part. And i hate to short it
I found this diagrams. But im lost.. Not like modern diagrams that tell u plugs and pin locations...
In the voltage regulator how to identify each wire???
There are no markings...

Thats my biggest issue. Here in tn. No corollas in yards. No one is parting. I cannot get this harness anywhere. I got harness from an auto car. The one i bought was a manual car. Plus the car had a 3 tc engine. And i dont know what other mods done to the original harness.
From what i can tell original harness had 6 wires used from the voltage regulator. The one i bought only uses 5. Leaves one empty. And i cannot get a reference to the regulators. So see which one is Ig, B, N, F. Id hate to guess... I will keep looking.

I found the information, after hours of finding the web, and for the sake of no one going through this, im documenting, tired of all the people saying their problem was solved, and no solution...
this manual page
http://www.pia.co.za/MediaLib/Home/Prod ... 010_11.pdf
but i have screen shots...
and for other regulators, and other peoples trucks, cars, or any toyota, honda, nissan, with similar info
ill go ahead and produce my wiring now, as i feel confident i have all i need. crossing finger.

Difference in the 5 & 6 harness if because the 5 wire harness the E is not used is direct attracted the the ground
Se sample hook the wires as per this diagram it will work unless you have more power source trouble

Do this !
Ig= ignition 12V switched to regulator
B= Battery 12v continuous to alternator and regulator
E= Ground
F= field to alternator F
N= Neutral straight to alternator N
L= Is light this wire come from the cluster dash
So test you can use an bulb battery and the negative on regulator L
Electronic is no Joke but if you comprehended it its kinda fun
