Just to clarify this the last time (also easy for search in the future);

Do AE86 springs fit a TE71 (liftback) with the recirculating ball steering? Front and Rear?
Do AE86 shocks fit a TE71 (liftback) with the recirculating ball steering? Front and Rear?

Thanks to whoever answers this :)

If your recirculating ball steering E7 is 1982... then front springs should fit as long as you use AE86 strut mounts, and so will the rears, if it is 80, or 81 the front springs will not fit. This is because the early cars have a unique strut mount pattern in the inner fender, where the 82-83 model use the AE86 pattern

The AE86 shocks should fit all years as long as you use E7 strut mounts on 80-81 models

Also... in addition.... the E7 chassis has 12mm more room between the strut towers then an AE86 does... BUT the cross member and lower control arms are the same dimensions... This means that if you put AE86 strut tubes (so you can use AE86 brakes) in your car you will automatically have positive camber.

You either will need adjustable camber type strut mounts, OR longer (or adjustable) lower control arms.

Thanks, that's some solid knowledge transfer :)
I have an '82, so I'll go look for some AE86 parts and camber plates I think.

For someone searching the forums;

AE86 front shocks fit the TE71 1982 recirculating ball model front strut casings (riding around with them now)

AE86 rear shocks are obviously the same and they fit.
