choke flaps on my Weber

Post by Teun »

Hi Guys,

A while ago I purchased a Weber 32/36, which has the choke flaps and linkage removed.
I'm thinking of installing it soon and am wondering if it's a good idea to install it as-is (because, among other things, the parts are hard to source)
Are any of you running without the choke flaps and linkage? pro's / con's in real life?

I do have a rebuild kit for it which I will put to good use before I put it on and purchase the correct jets for it (as found on this forum :))

That's no big deal,,in cold weather the car is gonna shut off a couple of times but then it will stay on as long as you keep the rpm up to at least 1500 for a couple of minutes then let it warm up and there you go ,,I have to do the same with my Holley ;)

So I went this way, and it works like a charm! Even in cold weather! Rough idle for the first minute but once the coolant heats up a little bit, the inlet manifold is more than warm enough for good atomization.
Next to that, throttle response is great.

Thanks for the answers guys!
