hey there, i've recently had a w58 fall into my lap for (almost) free, now I am wondering how difficult is it to put into a 81 te72 wagon, what parts do I need to make it work other than the adapter plate? So to do this mod properly I need to relocate the strut mount down to where the leafs connect with the lowering block? I am a bit confused as to why this needs to happen.

Haha 12 to 1 compression is a little more than I was thinking, I was looking at either 1.5 to 1 or 11 to 1, I need it to run on pump gas, doesnt matter to me if I need 94 octane though.

Alright ill look into blocks a bit more then. no one wants a weak suspension. and thanks bob for the how to on making them.
Down the road I would not mind doing a rear end swap, I hear the 8.8 rear end out of a mustang will work? its a bit longer though right?

I know the engine is bone stock as it sits right now. I agree with you on the pistons for increasing compression, it seems like if i shave the head there is just more room for error, and you cant dial it back down. I know a bit about carbs, I am still reading up on them though, I will definitely try...
